Suffering!

Just found some energy to walk down to the lobby in the hotel. I hit the wall pretty bad in todays race. I tried to make up for my bad startnr, 60 and I made so. After the startloop I was up to 21st and I felt great. I overloaded and went to hard into the first lap and halfway I had to slow down a bit. I lost ground all the race anf finished in 57th place. No to happy about that but quite happy about my feeling in the beginning which I haven´t had in a long while. Now travelling to Italy to try to find back that strong feeling.

Overheated…

At the hotel now. Todays race was a disaster. I have huge problems when it´s warmer temperatures and my body overheated so bad I even thought about walking up the climbs first laps… I got a bad start unclipping my foot and it got worse when I tried to push myself up from about place 60 in the first climb.

I have had problems all my life when it´s hot and I feel like I´m standing still when pushing. I guess I have to try out all things I can to improve that. When I started to cool myself with water each feedzone it got better but then the race was already over and I ended the race in a weak 44th place.

Recovery and try to get it going again is what´s up for next week.

Big congrats to Rabobank-Giant team mate Fabian Giger for his 4th place today. Also a great race from Henk Jaap Moorlag who finished 2nd in the U23 yesterday.
