18th!

Worlds are over for me. I had one of my best races this year and finished 18th. I started as 27th and had a solid and controlled start. Ws 16th after the startloop and felt good. I rode in a group of about 5 riders for a few laps before the rain started and everyone was riding more or less by their own. The track got super slick and I must admit that even if I like wet conditions I struggled to find my rythm and made a lot of misstakes when the rain started. I refocused and got into “wet mode” and found good lines and rythm.

I am happy about my feeling and that I can finish my 3rd worlds in top 20. I have been 17, 19 and now 18th. Now back to the draving board to try to squeeze out some more power and speed out of the body to me back next year and inprove.

Last part of the season looks like following:

Bundesliga Heubach next week, then home for a few days. Bundesliga Bad Salzdetfurt and then the classic Gieten before Off season starts.

I am going to push it all the way to the end and then some relax.

Today we head up the mountain to cheer on the downhillers. Cool.

Big thanks to all fans out there who supported me yesterday. You were great!!! Also a big thanks to the National team who are doing a great job!

Ciao/ E

8th in the relay.

We finished 8th in the relay. I got caught behind Americas rider who crashed really hard on the tarmac. I was last with about 50 meters to the group. It is hard to pass riders on this course but i managed to make my way up to 8th.
Just finished dinner, in alp style…

Cheers, E

Travelling.

Sitting in the Air Berlin lobby in Berlin, waiting for my next flight towards home. I am getting rather used to this airport and I feel pretty comfy here…

It was a short night at a hotel near munchen airport as I woke up 6.00 to catch first flight. Not to do to much advertisement for Air Berlin, but they are very good when you fly with bikes or excess luggage. No bike with me home this time but I use them anyway.

The race yesterday was solid. I hate to race when it´s hot and I wasn´t feeling that sure of my self before the start. I am doing all I can to improve that and I might be a bit closer to a soulution that might work, at least a bit. It was one of my best feelings in hot temperatures for ages and I could fight all way through the race.

The start was hectic as usual and I made up some positions before hitting the trails. I was riding between 30-40 most of the race and finished 42nd in the end. My second last lap wasn´t that great and I lost 6 positions.

Was great to race on italian ground again. I have so manny supporters since my years in italy. I felt like one of their own. Thanks!

Team mate Fabian and Henk-Jaap both where on fire and finished in the top 20. Good work guys!

I am now going home for a week before heading to the worlds in Champery, Switzerland. I am really looking forward to that race. I love that course and I am going more than all in for that..

It will be great to come home to Anna and Sune again. Sune is super cool at the moment, trying to speak as much as possible. I have bought him his first 2 wheeled bike so now home to practice.
