Happy new year!

2010 will soon be over and I must write a few words about the year. The year started perfect with our sons birth in January. It was followed by team presentation together with the rest of Rabobank-Giant Offroad team. I had a huge hunger for racing and showing our new colors. It started in a good way in Cyprus in February. I enjoyed to be back on the bike after a long and cold winter in Sweden.

Cape Epic was a good ride but after suffering some minor stomach problems we didn´t have the best of luck. Despite that we managed to get on the podium twice and the feeling was good.

First worldcup was a steady and controlled race. I made a good start and finished 21st and I was super ready for the next WC in Houffalize. The feeling I had before Houffalize was more then good and I was riding like a mad man. A big crash ended my race with a broken hand and a very sad feeling. I spent about a month “onehanded” and it took a huge amount of energy to stay focused and fit.

I made a comeback in beginning of June and the feeling was good again, but my hand and selfconfidence wasn´t like before the crash. I struggled with getting good results but managed in some way to get a few OK results during the rest of the season. I found some confidence and rode well during the worlds and the last part of the year, getting a couple of wins and a few podiums.

It´s so easy to ride fast when everything goes as planned, but when a major setback comes it can be rather hard to be an athlete sometimes. I have learnt a lot during this year, I have had great support from my team and team mates. I am sure that 2011 will bring some great results.

My goal is to take another step towards the top and I know what it takes to be there and I have great support from my “personal” team and my pro team.

News for 2011 are that I will have Alingsås Sports Club as my home club. It´s a great group of people and I am sure we will have some fun together.

There is a lot to write but here I stop. I hope you all get a good 2011, happy trails! =)

Cold Christmas.

At home again after spending Christmas together with my family. It is freezing cold in Sweden at the moment and I have enjoyed 2 weeks of the bike. It has been great days in the snow doing XC-skiing, running and gym training. Perfect!

Now back to normal training and I am looking forward to suffer some hard training before I go to Barcelona together with the rest of the Rabobank-Giant Offroad Team. But before that I have a couple of CX-races to do.

By the way, my girlfriend Anna has started a blog on the www where you can follow the family lindgren/petterson. http://www.milfaramedmanniskor.blogg.se/
