Cape Epic!

Cape Epic has come to and end and I am happy about the feeling. Me and my partner Fabian Giger had a OK ride. We both had our ups and downs during the 8 days.

I had a bad stomach for the first 3 days. I was still pedalling quite ok, but I was suffering from not eating enough. I got better and had really good legs the last 4 days.

We managed to be on the podium twice and got a 3rd place at the first stage and a 2nd at the last day. My legs were on fire the last day and that 2nd place came despite a broken chain for Fabian after about 3kms. I am riding smooth and feeling good at my bike. I didn´t have any punctures or so during all the + 700kms. Nice feeling!

We ended on a 11th in the overall, despite a time penalty of 1 hour when Fabian got a flat tire and I passed a checkpoint where you couldn´t be more than 2min apart. A mistake that can happened when the racing is on, but it costed a lot…

Now I am on my way home to Sweden for a few weeks before the real deal starts. I am really looking forward to spend time with my family and don´t think to much about pedalling for a while.

Take care/ Emil

Time for Cape Epic!

I am in South Africa since a few days and on sunday the adventure will start. We will do 8 days of MTBinking in a crazy beautiful landscape.

I will team up with Fabian Giger from Swizerland. We have start number 3 during the whole race and you will be able to follow our race through www.cape-epic.com. Last year they, together with polar had a live coverage of the race each day and I hope they have that this year as well.

The days here have been really good. I am feeling confident and we are both looking forward to the start of the race.

Due to bad internet connection, I can´t promise that there will be any updates on this site in a while. I hope to be able to update a few times but time will tell.

Full gas/ Emil

Bad day!

Bad day at todays race in Limassol. I started OK but on the 2nd lap I puncture my front tire and had to run half a lap to next feedzone. I wasn´t feeling super today and my concentration wasn´t at top and I made a small misstake that costed me to much time to be able to finish the race in the top. I rode through the race as training for upcomming races.

Tomorrow I leave for Sweden a couple of days before leaving for South Africa and the Cape Epic.

Ciao/ E
